About Volpe and Volpe

Reclaiming British Ceramics

'Volpe and Volpe's designs are the perfect blend of traditional craft and contemporary style, creating beautiful modern-day heirlooms.”

 Great British heritage…

Volpe and Volpe was born from founder Trish Scorgie’s passion for ceramics and Britain’s golden age of manufacturing. Having scoured second hand shops to build a collection of vintage ceramic swan vases, it occurred to her that they could be updated for modern homes by creating an edition in more contemporary colours. It was essential to her that this most British of ornaments be made right here in the UK, and she has sourced manufacturers in the traditional heartland of British ceramics, Stoke on Trent.

Trish’s instinct was spot on. Volpe and Volpe won Best Newcomer at the East London Design Show 2012 and the swans were quickly stocked by influential boutique stores, from super-stylist Emily Chalmers’ shop Caravan to Britain’s most famous collector, Paul Smith and cult online homewares emporium Rockett St George.

Britains leading Florists Scarlet & Violet and Rebel Rebel have also stocked Volpe and Volpe pieces, and Wild at Hearts Nikki Tibbles dressed the swans for the Cover of Living Etc.

… updated for the contemporary home

Today Volpe and Volpe’s range continues to grow, always guided by Trish’s curiosity for vintage ceramics and instinct for their rejuvenation. Volpe and Volpe  Mole string holders were handpicked by Trish from the archive of Torquay-based Babbacombe Pottery. She has also worked with artist Robert Dawson – one of the first artists to rework traditional ceramics – to develop a series of plates that depict endangered species in Britain and reference vintage floral dinner services.

Volpe and Volpe keeps evolving through Trish’s own research and collaborations with ceramic artists and artisans. Every product is based around her collector’s eye for quality, craftsmanship and provenance.

"Having collected vintage ceramic swans for years, it was a wonderful surprise to discover that Trish was bringing these designs to life again, via production in the UK. The quirky aesthetic of Volpe and Volpe certainly sits well among the general offering at Caravan."
